Winchester Business Improvement District (BID) is delighted to be supporting the Independent Business of the Year Award at the 2018 Winchester Business Excellence Awards. The BID has supported independent business since its formation over a decade ago and has recently formed an Independent Business Advisory Group, so supporting this category was a natural choice.

This award sought a business which could consistently demonstrate excellent market and customer engagement, the ability to adapt to consumer and trading trends and above all, the ability to contribute to “Winchester Life” and support other independent retail in the city. After much scrutiny, the four shortlisted businesses are:

New Energy Fitness

The café hosts a number of cultural activities for its growing following and is also the official Hub for Winchester Cocktail Week.  The gents behind Cabinet Rooms also volunteer as Creative Ambassadors for Winchester and organise the city’s largest festivals of gin and craft spirits – the Ginchester Fete and the Ginchester Christmas Market.

The four finalists will attend the Winchester Business Excellence Awards Ceremony on Friday 1st June and here, the winners of each category will be announced, followed by the crowning of the Simplyhealth Business of the Year Award.
